The Pear & Fruit Peacock

This is a really easy and effective healthy snack and the great thing about it is that the peacock tail can be made out of any fruit.

  • 1 pear
  • 1 strawberry
  • Any other selection of small soft fruit, I used:
  • 1 satsuma
  • Some grapes
  • 1 banana
  • Some blueberries
  • Some raisins
  1. Cut a pear in half and remove the core, any pips and pull the stalk off
  2. Place the pear flat side down with the pointy end at the top
  3. Cut a triangular beak from the strawberry and place in the middle of the pear
  4. Cut 3 thin strips from the strawberry, 1 longer than the others and place the longer strip in the middle with the two shorter strips to the right and left of it to make feet as above
  5. Place two raisins above the strawberry beak for eyes
  6. Place a selection of fruit all the way round the pear except for the bottom section and repeat with different varieties of fruit until you run out of space on the plate
This is an adaptation.
